Demos – A Reconstruction by Andreas Angelidakis is the first installation of MOCA’s Invitation Project, a functional and spatial commission that welcomes visitors to participate by reshaping their museum space. The exhibition opens on September 22 at the museum and remains in the space for a year.

Angelidakis’ project will consist of 74 modules that can be moved and recomposed by the public to create different structures, such as seating, walls, columns, thresholds, amphitheatres or stages. They can be used to create spaces for performance and speech, or they can provide seating where one can be a spectator. These building blocks will act as a communal, shared experience for all ages.

For Nuit Blanche Toronto, MOCA will enhance this new commission with an installation of Angelidakis’ video works. In these, he explores our relationship with the internet—particularly the ideas of building and revisiting architectural expression in the electronic realm.

Join an interactive night for all ages and be a part of an experience that will evolve as the night goes on.

Last entry time: 6:30 a.m.

Visit the new MOCA Toronto, a place of conversation, exchange and exploration where visitors of all ages and backgrounds can be part of a global creative moment. Three phases of major exhibitions annually feature work from Canadian and international artists—and programs that explore themes of our time. Located on Sterling Road, in the culturally rich Junction Triangle, the museum is housed on the first five floors of the historic Tower Automotive Building, a former aluminum factory known for its art deco architecture.
