there is no power of imagination without powerful images (Asger Jorn, Siuationist International)

Fifty years after the first socialist revolutions, the new movements of the poor, oppressed and excluded rose up as a global tsunami. A renewed left emerged that theorized and actively explored the intersection of class, race, and gender as more relevant approach to struggle together against the oppressor.

The collective Chto Delat (What is to be done?) was founded in early 2003 by artists, critics, philosophers and writers from Russia with the goal of merging political theory, art and activism.

Their artistic activity utilizes a range of media — from education practicies to film, theater, radio programs, publishing newspapers, murals, seminars and public campaigns.
